Ramoji Film City: Unleashing the Magic of Cine World – 1

Unveiling the Magic of Ramoji Film City

Ramoji Film City is a film studio complex with over 1600 acres of land that Guinness World Records has certified as the largest studio complex. It is about 32 km from Hyderabad in Telangana state. A must-see in Hyderabad to experience the magic of the Cine world and have fun exploring the movie sets.

Main Entrance Of Ramoji

A lovely scene of the Ramoji Film City entryway complete with a life-sized statue of Sheru, Ramoji’s lion logo greets us as soon as we enter the gate. Adding to the charm, a Sheru-costumed team member enthusiastically greets both young and young-at-heart visitors. Join us as we explore the enchantment of Ramoji Film City!

Ticketing at Ramoji

Procuring RFC tickets is easy with its seamlessly organized ticket counters, complemented by the convenience of online booking. For your inquiries or pre-booking needs, dedicated counters are conveniently located near the main ticket counter. You can choose your trip based on carriage type and preferences with a range of ticket options, including regular or AC bus tours and exclusive private tours. The regular tour ticket gives you access to the vast studio and a glimpse into the realm of movie magic. For those seeking an even more luxurious experience, the exclusive air-conditioned bus tours offer additional perks, including welcome beverages, lunch, and evening snacks. The outstanding SAHAS adventure activities require a separate ticket. Operating from 9 am to 5.30 pm, the RFC welcomes visitors till 2.30 pm.

The Ramoji Film City buses will take us from the entry gate to the main RFC studio. Our mode of transit will be assigned based on our type of ticket, such as a regular bus, AC bus, or car. The bus ride from Ramoji’s entrance to the main studio takes about 20 minutes. On this brief journey, we can feel the excitement of beginning the trip with fellow tourists. It was almost time for the Opening Ceremony when we reached the RFC gate.

Guided Bus Tour Through Enchanting Sets of Ramoji

We chose the regular tour, so I’ll detail our journey according to this option. An expert guide accompanies all buses, vividly sharing stories of shooting and iconic spots, and major films at each location. Divided into sections, the bus tour allows seamless transitions, dropping visitors off at different locations while facilitating smooth connections to the next available bus for continuous explorations. Additionally, the lack of time limits at certain locations offers freedom and flexibility. Buses also leave every 10 minutes, ensuring a hassle-free and enjoyable experience. Restrooms, merchandise shops, and food outlets dot each location, offering comfort and convenience for visitors. All these locations are clean and well-kept.

I have divided the tour into 4 categories based on the themes of studio sets, eco-tours, movie magic, and shows at the Eureka complex.

Eureka Complex

The Eureka complex serves as the studio’s primary entrance. It has live entertainment, an amusement park, and snack stands.

Ramoji Film City Opening Ceremony

The Grand Welcome ‘Opening Ceremony’ show takes place every day at 9.45 am at the Eureka complex. The pompous welcome by the performers in three sequences welcomed us to the dream world. The show begins with a Royal England-style welcome, a pop-style dance performance, and a Cowboy theme show. Following the ceremony, we can board any available red buses to begin our guided tour.

Studio Tour

After taking in the splendor of the Opening Ceremony, our journey continues with the Studio Tour. With the expert guidance of our tour conductor, we’ll traverse iconic locations such as the Central Jail, multipurpose hall, and gardens. Discover the astonishing Gurudwara set, where its dome transforms into the Golden Temple when painted in gold, a mosque when in green, and the Taj Mahal when in white. Our adventure continues along the vibrant streets of Delhi and Mumbai, an unbroken exploration of these remarkable locales. Several warehouse storage structures can be observed along the route, which our guide described as a movie or television series set that is not open to the public.

The enchanting Bhagavatam-Mythological set, our first stop, welcomes tourists to enter a Mahabharata Darbar hall screen, which was set up during our visit. There is a railway station set at the exit where you may board the train or even climb on the engine and reenact any movie moments you want before taking another bus to London. The London/Princess Street setting captures the essence of London with magnificent buildings and an artificial snowfall, followed by a chance to take a fictitious aircraft at the Airport set.

Eco Tour – Hawa Mahal and Gardens

The following Hawa Mahal set replicates the iconic Jaipur monument’s charm. It features several gardens, including the Sanctuary Garden, the Devyani Garden, and a Japanese Garden. In the Japanese garden, there is a small water-flowing pond where you can play in the water and have fun.

Studio Tour – Bahubali Film Set

After that, we will embark on the Bahubali film set. Visitors can immerse themselves in the grandeur of Mahishmathi’s kingdom. The Bahubali set is huge on the grounds, with an approach and exit on the opposite ends. Get ready for an exciting adventure as you wield archers, spears, shields, and swords, as well as mount chariots and take a royal seat on the throne. Witness the intricately designed cuffs, chains, busts, and legs of the Bahubali statue, along with an array of props used in the film. Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing aura of each arrangement, complemented by a background movie bgm. Plus, don’t pass up the opportunity to pose with bulls and elephants, however, you may have to wait due to the bustling flock to at these sights.

Eco Tour

A natural retreat awaits at the Butterfly Theme Park, where a butterfly museum educates visitors about the fascinating life cycle of these delicate creatures. The adjacent enclosed garden features a vivid array of butterflies. Besides the Butterfly Garden, there is also an artificial waterfall and pond with beautiful ducks and swans. Additionally, you can see various exotic, foreign, and local birds in the park from this wing. The ponds, bird cages, and other zones of this bird park are impeccably maintained, radiating a sense of neatness and cleanliness.
